This is going to cause more disasters worldwide, more sever pandemics, floods, droughts, heatwaves, extremely cold conditions in some areas, melting permafrost that is releasing more carbon emissions, sea rise which is already displacing people; creating climate refugees, crop failures, livestock losses, food shortages, the extinction of wildlife; eventually perhaps the extinction of the human race.
Throughout the history of earth, it has always got its energy from the sun which peaks in the visible. Some of this energy is absorbed, some reflected. All that was absorbed, re-emits at longer wavelength in the infrared ( Wien's law). What changes is the albedo of the earth. At the last glacial maximum, the albedo was high, energy was reflected into space. As the ice sheets receded, the albedo fell and the average temperature on earth rose as there was less energy reflected into space. This will continue until there is a sharp reversal and the beginning of a slow advance to another glacial maximum. At the last glacial maximum sea levels were over 300 feet lower than now but empirical evidence shows that we may have another 25 to 30 feet to go.
There is increasing evidence that our adding so much CO2 to the atmosphere will significantly delay or cancel the next ice age. Any further increases in sea level are likely primarily due to us
